Yes, you could start playing soccer at any age. Running is a good thing to practice, just make sure your in good shape, because you will be running a lot and cant get tired exhausted along the way to quick.
Basically all you have to think is your a person,
people could do anything they want.
We all have the same capabilities,
its whats in the mind that helps you succeed.
If you want something you go for it
You gotta let your mind do the work for you
You can do anything you work for.

It’s never too late, but if you have never played soccer before, you probably shouldn’t try out for club teams. My advice is to start playing on an AYSO team. There is usually a couple teams per city and there are different levels, but you can’t get cut off the team. It doesn’t cost as much as club soccer, and you will get a decent amount of playing time. You should probably start looking at the AYSO website for tryouts coming up for spring season. Tips I have are go to the nearest park and dribble on the grass(cement ruins the ball) and juggle in your drive way or in your garage if you are embarrassed. Also, buy cleats and wear them whenever you are practicing dribbling on grass(wearing cleats on cement ruins the cleats) so that you don’t get blisters when you are at try-outs. If you have someone to pass with, that would also be good practice. Good luck!

i am fourteen and played soccer when i was very young. i stopped for a long time and about two years ago i decided to start again. the first season of games when just starting out again is definetly the hardest. i would start out joining a recreational summer league first (that’s what I did). after that first summer season i joined modified soccer at my school. for a while i was very behind, but i definitely caught up. i played on jv this year. for jv you definitely need to be able to run. i am still slightly behind a lot of the other players on my team who have been playing for many years, but for the amount of time that i’ve been playing I think that I’ve caught up well. i hope this helps.

i play class one soccer, or ‘club’, and im 14… i have been playing for 5 years….and to try out, its pretty intense,
it would be very hard to make a club team if you haven’t played in a couple years.
…can you juggle a ball over 400? because if so, you could make it for sure….
if your not good enough, you just dont make the team, and thats that.
on tips to prepare, do running, and lots of it. or speed ladders, and get lots of touches on the ball everyday to improve your ball control….
    good luck!!!

  6. Yes. Why not? I started playing soccer when I was in 4th year high school and even became part of our varsity team. I’m already 16 at that time. It’s better late than never. Although most of the time I’m only ask to play in the last 5 minutes of our game. =’( Well, I know that the other players are a lot better than me but I don’t care. What’s important for me is that I’m enjoying it. If you really want to play soccer, you must prepare yourself getting hit by the ball.

You might not be as good as others who have been playing longer, but that will change with time and practice. If you really want to do it, then play! If you don’t make it on the team, ask the coach if you can at least practice with them, that way next season you’ll be ready.

  8. soccer star says:

    yes you can
dont mind other people if its something you want to do then go for it
if you try out for a club out side of school and are not good enough you just wont make the team no big deal
    good luck

  9. of course you can, it might as well turn out that you´re good at it. The only problem is to catch up with the stamina but seriously if you take soccer classes you will get stamina real fast.

You should start soccer because it’s never too late for that. As long as you have the wish to do it, it would not be difficult.

  12. soccerr ツ says:

why dont you start a recreational team first…or see if your good enough and try out for a more competitive team..if your not good enough, then deal with it..try a rec team to start off.

  13. Caitlin says:

of course you can!!!! My mom told me I couldn’t start playing soccer because I was too old…and now I wish I would have!!! Soo go for it!! It’ll be fun and nobody will laugh at you

  14. twins4me says:
